That top photo is definitely a lot stronger than the other option.

I like the bottom photo being that you incorporated more than one person in the photograph. The person to the far right makes the photo eye catching and instead of looking dead on to them, was it possible to shoot the profiles and have the individual crying to the far right of the frame so you could have been drawn directly to that.

In 2011, Merriman was honored with the top photography award from the Military Reporters and Editors Assoc. for his work in Iraq & Haiti. Merriman graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg in 2000 with a degree in English Writing. In 2009, the university awarded him its prestigious Alumnus of Distinction award. Merriman lives in Oakmont with his fiancĂ©, Stephanie Strasburg.
