Grace Benham

Grace Benham, 4, was born without a thumb. The Korean girl, adopted by a Plum couple, is deaf and without her thumb communication is very difficult. A recent operation took part of a finger and attached it in place of her thumb, giving her a chance to finally communicate with sign language.

I like the portrait of her with the bears...my thought is that there is something really similiar about most of these photos. You mix it up a bit with that first image, but then they all seem a little similiar. Not saying I don't like them. I'm just saying I'd prefer some variety

The sameness of the photos, noted by the previous commentator is due to the lack of expression in the child's face in most of the pics, coupled with the use of black and white imaging. This aside, these are really nice photos - very well composed.

The child's face actually speaks volumes and actually has lots of expression, just maybe not what the previous commentator expects but just the same, volumes are spoken. The pics are fantastic!
