Soldier Sendoff











Hundreds of local families scattered across Western Pennsylvania said goodbye to their loved ones serving with the Pennsylvania National Guard's 1st Battalion, 110th Infantry on Wednesday morning, January 6, 2010 as 114 soldiers left from the Hunt Armory in Shadyside. The soldier will be heading to Camp Atterbury, Ind., where they will train for approximately five weeks before leaving for Afghanistan. In Afghanistan they will be heading to the Kunar Province where they will carry out a vital mission in the War on Terror serving as security for Provincial Reconstruction Teams.
